So…I’m a displaced Southern girl living here in beautiful coastal Massachusetts…once we heard that Hurricane Arthur was headed our way for the Fourth, I knew I would have an inside cookout with a Boston Butt in the crockpot. I have a great dry rub I use for the pork, but I just gotta say the Slatherin’ sauce really made it taste like home!! “Thank all y’all”!!

I have been using the Original Recipe for about a year now. Wilmington, NC Costco carries it and I pick a bottle up one day and love it. I have always been a Carolina Treet lover, made here in Wilmington, forever. I don’t use that one so much any more. Locally there is a sauce named Paul’s Place Hot Dog Sauce that is a little similar but not as good. I put Slather, mustard and onions on my hot dogs now. Wow what a good product.

Absolutely LOVE the spicy sauce. Was on a road trip in South Carolina, and happened to stop at a local road side store that mainly sold jams. Was looking for something new to spice up some old recipes and was gluten free. Got to tell ya, you definitely need to advertise the fact that this is a GLUTEN FREE product. As long as your sauces continue to stay GLUTEN FREE, I will forever be one of your loyal customers.

Okay, big guys. Today is the day. Stopped by your set up at COSTCO a couple weeks ago here in Wilmington and bought a bottle. Making smokey pulled pork sammies tonight and we have three very discerning pallets who have never wavered in 25 years in their belief said author of this comment has a rival in such fare. I’ll be loading up with creamy slaw as well, with my side of crispy, garlic inspired, sweet potato fries. Ouch, umm. Will be using sauce not as a topping, but in the mix, extra hot (temp) on toasted rolls. Oh yeah, sliced beefsteaks with fresh basil/rosemary (back porch), blue cheese and my special vinaigrette drizzle. I’ll let you know.

This is an amazing sauce. George’s kids first introduced this to us in Goose Creek, SC. We brought back several bottles. At first, I didn’t like that any one dish meal I made improved with Slatherin Sauce, but I finally gave in….it does indeed, make anything taste better. Thank you.

Met you Saturday night at the Wild Game and Seafood Banquet in Wilmington. The Shrimp and Grits w/ Pimento Cheese was the best thing there. Even better than the rattlesnake chili. Ordering some sauce from you today and I can’t wait to fix that dish for my daughter. Will be talking to Josh Collins about getting you up here for our Singer/Songwriter Night final. Josh may even want to start using your sauce in their restaurant. Delicious!

Fast forward to yesterday, and my lovely girlfriend completely surprised me with a HALF GALLON OF SLATHER SAUCE!! Best Valentine’s Day gift ever. I cannot wait to put it on everything!

We had a dinner for the “slow food” $5.00 challenge. I served buttermilk fried chicken, sautéed mixed southern greens collards, mustard, turnip & spinach. Then a crispy crust cornbread all all with your original “Slathern Sauce.” I will serve the Spicy Slatherin’ Sauce at another event.

    My guests Loved it!!!!

    Thank you!

If you’d like to see my write-up about it, I’d be honored. (I don’t want to “toot my own horn” so I won’t leave the link unless you say it’s okay — it’s YOUR moment to shine, not mine. 🙂

      June 12, 2011

Do share with us how you use your Slatherin’ Sauce! While many use Slatherin’ Sauce as a barbecue sauce, we often tell people we’re an everything sauce! ‘Cause we’ve never found anything that can’t be improved by adding a bit of it to the whatever we’re cooking, either on the grill, the stove or in the oven. We have some new recipes coming soon from Holly Herrick that will make use of the very best of summer’s produce!

    September 12, 2010

Tried this FABULOUS sauce when Robin was in Chapel Hill, NC. As soon as I got back to San Antonio I ordered two bottles of the spicy sauce. LOVE IT! Of course, we’d like it a kicked up a little more, please because we like things hot here in Texas. My son and his wife love it, too and gave hints that it would make a nice Christmas gift. So I guess I’ll have to see if Robin has an autoship every month. You can bet I’ll be a regular customer.

    • Robin Rhea

      September 14, 2010

Nancy, I love the way you think!!!! I have not thought about autoship options. As for needing a little more spicy…go ahead and add about a quarter teaspoon of crushed red pepper to that bottle and see if that won’t give you the kick you are looking for!!!!

  • Rose

    September 9, 2010

I fixed Slathered veggies: green and red peppers, onions, mushrooms. Stir fried then added slather sauce and cooked a couple minutes. Served it over jasmine rice. It was such a great taste, you could add chicken or shrimp, but it was great with just the veggies. It is the best sauce I have ever cooked with.

  • Barb

    August 12, 2010

The Slatherin’ Sauce was a hit with the whole family last night. I dry rubbed the prime rib with a mixture of brandied pepper, parsley, kosher salt, oregano, thyme & garlic & onion powders. We cooked it on the rotisserie and then “slathered” it up for the last 10 minutes of cooking. I took the pan drippings and heated them up with some extra Slatherin’ Sauce and then served that on the side like a gravy. I’m looking forward to the leftovers tonight!

My husband says that everything I cook is bland. Well, NO LONGER! Last week I made chicken, he looked at me and asked “what did you put on this?” Before I answered I asked – “Do you like it?” He said it was FANTASTIC! Just some Slather Sauce! Last night I made Slather Burgers and again – got rave reviews from my Husband!

I have tried almost every BBQ sauce/ finishing sauce on the market. And I have to say bar none Slatherin Sauce blows them all away. I am proud to say that Slatherin Sauce is the first BBQ style sauce that I am going to put on the shelves of my new store PAH PREE KAH which is located in Johnstown, PA.

Ever since I received my first bottle of Slatherin Sauce I have not been able to touch another condiment.
